Located in Puerto Juarez, just in the north part of Cancún, an old fishermen village, about 5 minutes from downtown Cancun. This has to be one of the oldest restaurants in all Cancun since it opened in 1974 (just around the date that Cancun was founded).
Nowadays it is led by the original owner´s son: Octavio Santiago, a young chef with the energy and the vision of contemporary food but with the roots of pre-hispanic and traditional Mexican seafood. Even the menu is divided in two: traditional seafood and the creations of the chef.
One of our favorite places in Cancun, best flavors for seafood. Do not expect nothing too fancy, it is a small place, traditional Mexican palapa with wooden tables... but don´t let this deceive you, the food by itself its the main attraction. A BBQ in the outside, fresh seafood and a kitchen that offers the best fish in town... Do not forget to order some artesanal Mexican beer or a cocktail to go with your food. Ask the waiter for the specials of the day.
All fish and local seafood is catch of the day and nonlocal seafood is flown that same day or the night before. Everything is from Mexico.
Did we also mention it is really cheap? Best quality/price relation in Cancun.
What to find: fresh seafood, traditional mexican, mexican fusion, beer, cocktails.
Our favorites: Grilled "Zarandeado" Fish (you can have the grilled fish in many different presentations), Tuna and Marlin Tostadas, Deep Fried Fish, Ray Chimichangas, Chocolata Clams, Fresh Oysters and for dessert the Buñuelo.. basically everything.
You will want to try everything... trust us.
